Felix and the Hurricanes have spent 35 years playing the blues, loud and from the heart. A working class band proud of any gig, any show.
Built around Felix Kos's fiery slide and lead guitar, the band runs from slow-burn blues to full-throttle Southern rock, barrelhouse boogie, classics and originals — famously with no set list, reading the room and playing up to three-hour nights. They've been voted Altoona Mirror Hometown Favorite Band five times and took home the 2009 BSWPA International Blues Challenge with a trip to Memphis.
Over the decades they've become a staple live act across the region and beyond — East Coast Sturgis, Thunder in the Valley, Tussey Mountain Wingfest, 7 Springs Ribfest, the Lake Raystown Blues Cruise's, and rooms from Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale Miss and Moondogs and the R Bar in Pittsburgh to Bar 9 in NYC's Hell's Kitchen — logging around 200 shows a year.
Festivals, clubs, private parties, corporate events — the Hurricanes travel.
